Hike for 2 August 2017



Boulogne to Versailles


Dear Hikers,

On Wednesday August 2nd, we will walk from Boulogne to Versailles (zone 4), with three options:
A normal walk, a shorter one and an optional extension.

PLEASE NOTE -- Due to the the works on "RER A" between "la Defense" and "Nation",
these line will be closed from July 29 to August 27.

NORMAL WALK     Distance: 15 kilometers with 3 hills.
The walk will start by crossing the Seine and part of the Parc de Saint-Cloud and then on to Versailles via the pleasant village 
of Ville-d'Avray where we will have our lunch facing "les  Etangs de Ville-d'Avray".

GETTING THERE:

MEETING POINT #1
If you come by metro *We shall meet no later than 10:00 a.m. by the metro station
Boulogne-Pont-de-Saint-Cloud, on Metro Line 10.

* When you get off the train, walk along the quay in the same direction as the train, go up the steps and take the exit "Musée
Albert-Khan" (to the right).
The meeting place is ten meters from the metro station, at the intersection of these three streets:
Av. du Maréchal-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny / Rond-point Rhin-et-Danube (the large roundabout) / and the little Rue du Port.
We leave at 10:05 sharp.

MEETING POINT #2
If you come from Saint-Cloud station (train) or les Milons station (tram).
* You shall meet no later than 10:20 am in front of the church "Saint-Clodoald".
We leave at 10:25 sharp.


SHORTER WALK     distance: 6.5 kilometers, with 1 gentle hill.
For those who prefer this distance, you can go and have your lunch "aux Etangs" with the group, then return to Paris
 from the station Sèvres/Ville-d'Avray. (zone 3). The distance from "les Etangs" to your station is 1.5 km. You will walk in town to reach your station without your leader, but your guardian angel will not be far.

An OPTIONAL EXTENSION to "Hameau de la Reine" or to the gardens of the Château could be possible (+ 4.5/5 km).

RETURN - There are three stations in Versailles: Versailles Rive-droite, Versailles Rive-gauche and Versailles-Chantiers for different destinations in Paris: La Défense, Gare Saint-Lazare // Javel, Invalides, Saint-Michel // Gare Montparnasse.

You will need a picnic lunch, water, more water, still water (encore et toujours); "taken in moderation, it cannot hurt anybody" (Mark Twain). He died anyway!

Hike for 26 July


Triel to Meudan 

Chers randonneurs,

Je vous propose une randonnée de 16 km sur les coteaux de la Seine entre Triel et Meulan pour découvrir cette étrange forêt de l'Hautil jadis exploitée pour le gypse.

Départ : Gare Saint Lazare à 8h 57 en direction de Mantes-la-Jolie, arrivée à 9h 25 à Vernouillet-Verneuil où je vous attendrai

Retour : Gare de Meulan-Hardricourt en direction de Paris Saint-Lazare, trains toutes les 30 mn à partir de 15 h

N'oubliez pas pique-nique et boisson, des vêtements adaptés à la météo et votre bonne humeur habituelle.

Dear hikers,

I propose a hike of 16 km on the slopes of the Seine between Triel and Meulan to discover the strange forest of Hautil once used for gypsum.

Departure: Gare Saint Lazare at 8h 57 in the direction of Mantes-la-Jolie arrival at 9h 25 in Vernouillet-Verneuil where I will wait for you

Return: Meulan-Hardricourt station towards Paris Saint-Lazare,trains every 30 mn from 3 pm

Do not forget picnic and drink, clothes adapted to the weather and your usual good mood.

Hike for 12 July & 19



Chatenay-Malabry 

Hello walkers,
   
I am very glad to propose this walk for next Wednesday after being absent for 5 months. 
This is a short morning walk. It will be through the parks of Chatenay-Malabry: Parc de la Maison de Chateaubriand, Vallée aux Loups and Arboretum where you can see an exceptional Collection of Bonsai.
For those who wish to walk in the afternoon, Parc de sceaux is nearby.


GETTING THERE:
Departure:
From CHATELET LES HALLES at 09:05 RER B Direction ROBINSON
The same train from DENFERT-ROCHEREAU at 9:13
Arrival at ROBINSON at 09:33 
Zone 3

At the Gare de Robinson walk to the head of the train then to the right and take the exit Av. Jules Guesde,
The meeting place will be outside, at the top of the stairs.

Return:  RER B from the same station, trains to Paris every 15 min

Bring your picnic lunch and a lot of water.

Vaucresson - Machine de Marly - Chatou - Saint-Cucufa 

I propose a 20-km loop from Vaucresson through the Forêt Domaniale de Fausses Reposes, the Bois de Louveciennes, along the river Seine and through the Forêt domaniale de la Maimaison (Saint-Cucufa). 
This course will be hilly - cumulative elevation : 240 m. You may find all details of the course at 

Bail out is possible by RER at Louveciennes, 4.7 km, or at Chatou, 11.5 km.
